                          History

Southern Business Machines, Inc. opened its doors in October of 1989.  We began modestly with two employees and 127 customers.  In the last 18 years we have established ourselves as a strong competitor of Pitney Bowes.

Our diversified product line of mailroom equipment and software includes postage meters, mail machines, scales, UPS shipping systems, check signers, folders, inserters, bursters, letter openers, barcoders, tabbers, labelers, shredders, and mail list software. 

In September of 1998 we purchased our permanent location at 2040 Division Street, Weinbach Shopping Center, in Evansville, Indiana.  Southern Business Machines now has more than 17,000 square feet of office and service space, which we can comfortably expand in.  We have increased our work force & customer base, as well. Our customer base has swelled to more than 1,800 customers, and we continue to expand our customer database every day.

In March 2006, Southern Business Machines, Inc. acquired the Neopost mailing equipment line, covering two of the four mailing product markets in the U.S., in our established territories.

Southern Business Machines is now an established company with firm roots in the tri-state area.  We sell and service 50 counties in Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois.  We look forward to our future with the community and value our customers.
